Recreational Programs - Avalanche Courses

AlpenPro offers recreational avalanche safety courses. We maintain a formal curriculum which includes a list of lesson plans with objectives, a student handbook, and an instructor handbook. Major revisions, improvements and additions to our materials are made prior to each season, and minor updates often follow courses based on experiences and feedback. These materials are proprietary and copyrighted and may only be used in official approved AlpenPro courses.

The format of the course, the logistics, the teaching style, and the costs sometimes vary a bit with location. Avalanche courses have been offered in New York, New Hampshire, Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Utah, Montana and Nevada.

AlpenPro course fees include a one-time opportunity to order safety equipment at a large discount and also a one year membership to Avalanche-Center.org
