Equipment Discount Policies

We are pleased to offer students a discount averaging 30% on most brands and models of avalanche safety equipment, subject to the following policies.

This is not an ongoing deal which is open ended. Students may order discounted equipment at any time during their enrollment, and for a period of 30 days following the completion of their studies. It is also only available to those who enroll in a class or module. There is a limit of two per item per season - i.e. two shovels, two beacons, etc. This allows you to help outfit one partner as well, which is clearly in your interest. It does not allow the discount to be passed along to everyone you know.

If you cancel or transfer your registration and are owed any refund the amount of the discount on any orders will be subtracted from that refund.

A nominal shipping charge may apply depending on the size and nature of the order and the location shipped to. Items picked up, i.e. at a field day, will not have any shipping charge.

Orders for large groups may be handled differently as required.

All AlpenPro students get a one year membership to the Avalanche-Center.org website. There is always a discount for members who log in before shopping. So you will be able to take advantage of the Avalanche Store discount for at least one year. Longer if you renew your membership. This is rarely 30%, but usually at least 10%. Shipping charges are also waived if you use the members discount.

The policies above are the official ones, exceptions are often made. Any and all exceptions are at the discretion of AlpenPro. The most common exception is to fulfill orders for students from past seasons. We will usually do this, but you will increase your odds of a favorable response (or perhaps any response) by inquiring during a slower time of year and not in mid-winter.
